When should jujube trees be sprayed? What pesticide is best?
In mid-to-late June, spraying once with triadimefon or thiophanate-methyl can prevent rust diseasein early July, spraying mancozeb and carboxin once every half a month can prevent fruit shrink diseasein late July, spraying once with Bordeaux mixture can prevent anthracnose. After sprouting in spring, before leaf curling, use dichlorvos plus diflubenzuron to control jujube gall midgearound wheat harvest, use omethoate to control scale insects, and from July to October, use a syringe to inject dichlorvos emulsion or pyrethroid pesticides into insect holes to kill longhorn beetles.
Jujube tree pest and disease control methods:
1. Clear fallen leaves. After the winter jujube tree drops its leaves, promptly sweep up dead branches, fallen leaves, diseased and mummified fruits, and weeds in the orchard and bury them deeply or burn them in a centralized manner, so as to reduce the number of pathogens and pests overwintering.
2. Deep plowing of the jujube orchard. Especially in jujube orchards with poor soil and high salt content, deep plow 15-20cm before the soil freezes. This can loosen the soil and preserve moisture, store rain and snow, promote root growth, and also turn pests overwintering in the soil to the surface, where they are preyed on by natural enemies or freeze to death.
3. Scrape old bark. In early winter or early spring, scrape off the old cracked bark, diseased bark, and insect-bored bark at the trunk, large branches, and branch forks, then burn or deeply bury them. This can effectively eliminate pests and diseases overwintering in the coarse bark. The scraping thickness should be such that the cortex is slightly exposed as yellow-green. After scraping, apply 40% asomate wettable powder 10-100 times solution or 5-10 Baume lime sulfur mixture to the wounds to protect them.
4. Whitewash the trunk. After the jujube tree drops its leaves, use whitewash on the trunk and the base of large branches to eliminate pests and diseases overwintering in the trunk. The whitewash can be prepared with 25 parts water, 10 parts quicklime, 1 part lime sulfur mixture, 1 part salt, and a small amount of animal oil. An appropriate amount of fungicide and insecticide can also be added to the whitewash to increase its effect.
5. Manual pest removal. After the jujube tree drops its leaves, in combination with winter pruning, cut off diseased and pest-infested branches, and remove overwintering eggs and cocoons of large bagworms, nettle moths, cicadas, and others from the branches.
6. Chemical spraying for control. After the jujube tree drops its leaves and before sprouting, spray once each time with 5 Baume lime sulfur mixture plus 200 times sodium pentachlorophenate, which can eliminate overwintering pathogens and insect eggs.
7. Bundle grass to trap and kill. After winter jujubes are picked, tie straw around the base of the trunk for one round to attract pests into the grass to overwinter, which can also prevent freeze damage. Before the jujube tree sprouts in spring, untie the straw and take it outside the orchard to burn.
8. Tie film to block and kill. In early spring, tie a ring of plastic film about 20cm wide around the base of the trunk, and tie a poisonous rope around the middle of the film. Roll the film downward into a trumpet shape, which can effectively block and kill pests climbing up the tree.
9. Cover the tree with film. In early spring, cover the tree with plastic film, which can prevent ground pathogens and some pests from spreading to the tree, inhibit weed growth, increase ground temperature, and reduce water evaporation.
The above is a relevant introduction to when to spray jujube trees and what pesticide to use. We hope it is helpful to everyone.
