First use a fired pot and wooden barrel with good air permeability. The soil should be deep, loose, and well-aerated sandy soil. Then choose a healthy, plump plant with a well-developed root system and no pests or diseases. Choose early spring for potting; before potting, prune the roots and cut off pest- or disease-affected branches. Add nutrient soil to the soil, place the sapling into the soil, lift the seedling and press the soil down.

I. Growing from Seed

When the cherries are ripe, take out the pits and wash the flesh off the surface in clean water, then place them in a cool, shaded spot to dry for 1 to 2 days before sowing. When sowing, simply place the pits in a shallow pot; they will sprout in about 10 to 30 days. Once the seedlings grow to 5 to 10 cm, they can be moved into a flower pot for care.

II. Growing from Cuttings

1. Cutting the cuttings: Select semi-mature, robust branches about 0.7-1.2 cm in diameter, each section about 15 to 20 cm long, and remove some of the leaves, keeping only 4 to 6.

2. Preparing the substrate: Use loose, fertile soil as the cutting substrate; peat moss, vermiculite, and river sand can be mixed evenly.

3. Inserting into the soil: Insert the prepared cuttings into the soil, and after inserting, place the cuttings in a shaded spot; they will take root in about 2 months. After rooting, transplant them. Growing from cuttings is relatively simple and has a high survival rate.

III. Potting Time

For potting cherries, timing is also very important; potting is generally done in early spring. Before potting, be careful to prune the cherry's roots and branches and cut off any pest- or disease-affected branches.

Check the flower pot to see whether the drainage holes can maintain smooth drainage.

IV. Potting

First place a piece of tile in the flower pot, covering the drainage hole, then add cinder and nutrient soil, and place the sapling in the soil; lift the seedling and press the soil down, and make sure to keep a 5 cm distance between the soil surface and the container.
