When to plant tobacco? An introduction to the best planting time
Tobacco is divided into spring tobacco and summer tobacco. Spring tobacco is generally planted in spring, and sowing can be carried out successively in February and March. Summer tobacco in the south is planted in April and May. However, due to regional climate differences, its planting time also varies. For example, in the Guangdong and Guangxi region and the Fujian area, tobacco is generally planted in September and October.
Tobacco planting management:
1. Soil management
Different soil quality will affect the quality of tobacco. For planting tobacco, fields that are relatively heavy and clayey with a moderate humus content are generally chosen.
2. Temperature management
Tobacco is sensitive to temperature and likes a warm environment. The most suitable temperature for planting tobacco is between 25°C and 30°C. Too high a temperature will cause the tobacco plants to grow more slowly and the leaves to become coarse and hard. Low temperatures, on the other hand, cause abnormal development in tobacco.
3. Water management
Tobacco leaves are relatively large and transpire strongly, so a large supply of water is needed during its growth process. In the process of planting tobacco, we must ensure that the plants have sufficient water.
4. Fertilization management
In the early stage, nitrogen fertilizer is mainly used, combined with phosphate fertilizer and potassium fertilizer. In the middle and late stages, if a phenomenon of fertilizer deficiency appears, then fertilization needs to be done by foliar spraying. While fertilizing, prevent flooding, remove weeds and loosen the soil to strengthen the permeability of the field.
In the process of tobacco planting, it is necessary to grasp the planting time and the influencing factors in all aspects of the growth process, so that high-quality tobacco can be grown.
