How Long Does It Take for Herbicide Toxicity to Disappear After Use
Ordinary herbicides sprayed on fields generally take 6 to 7 days to volatilize, and they become ineffective after half a month. Some herbicides with relatively strong toxicity take several years to become ineffective.
After herbicides are sprayed on farmland, the herbicide components that are not absorbed by weeds will remain free in the soil. Crops will then absorb and accumulate the herbicides, and their biological tissues will be damaged to a certain extent, making them unable to synthesize certain nutrient elements they should have, which leads to the loss of certain nutrients in the crop fruits.
At normal dosage, herbicides have a certain inhibitory effect on crops such as wheat, corn, soybeans, and cotton. If used improperly, they affect the normal development and maturation of crops, leading to hidden yield reductions. Research trials in Hunan Province show that the side effects of herbicides can cause yield reductions of 10.5%~26.8% in rice, wheat, soybeans, and corn.
