A Detailed Guide to Aralia elata Planting Techniques and Field Management Methods
Aralia elata is a small tree, also called ci nen ya (tender Aralia shoots). The roots of Aralia elata can be used as medicine, with effects such as tonifying qi and dispelling wind, promoting blood circulation and relieving pain. It is currently mainly distributed in Northeast China and the South, with a relatively small wild area. As Aralia elata becomes more and more popular, the area of artificial cultivation is also growing larger and larger. So how should Aralia elata be planted?
I. How to plant
When Aralia elata grows to more than 10 cm and many prickles have grown on the stem, it can be planted out. The seedlings for planting must undergo ventilation and water control for hardening off before cultivation. The planting time is generally chosen in early spring, when the soil temperature at 10 cm underground reaches above 12 degrees C. When planting, simply plant the seedlings directly into the soil and water them thoroughly.
II. Points for attention
Aralia elata has a well-developed root system and luxuriant branches and leaves. If the row spacing is too narrow, it will affect ventilation and light, causing excessive vegetative growth of stems and leaves. Therefore, planting one plant per sq m is sufficient. A row spacing of 1.8 m and a plant spacing of 0.6 m is the most reasonable planting distance, and about 700 plants can be planted per mu. Pay attention to weeding it in time, and also prevent spring drought; as soon as drought is found, water it in time.
