The common diseases of wheat are root rot, leaf rust and powdery mildew. Leaf rust is generally the main disease during the wheat development period, usually occurring in May. Powdery mildew and root rot mainly occur in wheat fields with heavy rainfall and high field humidity. The common pests are aphids, wheat midges and wheat spiders. Aphids generally appear after wheat turns green, wheat midges appear in mid-to-late April, and wheat spiders mainly cause serious damage in March and April.

Wheat pest and disease control is mainly based on prevention, and the common prevention methods are as follows:

1. Timely drainage: Do a good job of drainage in wheat fields, and reducing standing water in the plough layer is the main goal of preventing wheat wet damage. Especially when rain is frequent in winter and spring, make sure there is no standing water in the wheat field.

2. Increase fertilizer application: For wheat fields with severe wet damage, apply the relay fertilizer early and skillfully, and apply the jointing and booting fertilizer heavily, so as to promote the seedlings to upgrade with fertilizer. In winter, apply more warm organic fertilizer.

3. Protect leaves and prevent diseases: After rust, scab and powdery mildew occur, spray pesticides in time for control. In addition, you can spray "802" growth regulator, plant stress-resistance yield-increasing agent, Jiamu harvest liquid fertilizer, Huimanfeng, Cufengbao, Wanjiaobao, etc. You can also spray "Plant Power 2003" 10ml mixed with 10L clear water, once every 7 to 10 days, for 2 consecutive sprays. It is recommended to apply Duode rare earth pure nutrient agent, 50g mixed with 20 to 30L clear water for spraying, with good results.

4. Choose disease-resistant varieties: You can choose high-quality artificially bred wheat. In areas where severe disease often occurs, the resistance requirements for varieties should be higher, and in general disease areas they can be lower.

The control of wheat pests and diseases is more effective at the early stage of occurrence. If most of the leaves, stems and ears of the whole plant are affected, spraying pesticides is basically ineffective.
