The correct method for making and mixing seedbed soil
To make seedbed soil, you first need to choose suitable field soil, combine it with organic fertilizer and chemical fertilizer, and then mix them in a certain ratio. The nutrient soil needs to be disinfected. Sowing can be done on a sunny day; higher temperatures will make seedlings emerge faster.
Types of nutrient soil
According to different uses, nutrient soil can be divided into sowing bed soil and seedling transplanting bed soil.
(1) Sowing bed soil is required to be especially loose and permeable, so as to facilitate seedling emergence and avoid damaging roots when transplanting seedlings, and it does not require high fertility. The mixing volume ratio is 4 parts field soil, 5 parts grass (or horse manure soil), and 1 part high-quality manure; or 3 parts field soil, 3 parts fine cinder, and 4 parts decomposed horse manure or organic fertilizer. Add 0.5~1.0kg of chemical fertilizer per cubic meter. The thickness of the sowing bed soil is about 6~8cm.
(2) Seedling transplanting bed soil is also called transplanting bed soil. To ensure sufficient nutrients during the seedling stage and that the soil does not fall apart during planting, the seedling transplanting nutrient soil should increase the proportion of field soil and high-quality manure. The mixing volume is: 5~7 parts field soil, 3~4 parts organic matter such as peat and horse manure, and 2~3 parts high-quality manure, with 1.0~1.5kg of chemical fertilizer added per cubic meter. The thickness of the seedling transplanting bed is 10~12cm.
