How do you grow rapeseed? You'll get the detailed planting method at a glance
Rapeseed is a relatively high-yielding crop, and it is also a vegetable that people quite like, so how should its seeds be planted?
How to grow rapeseed
Rapeseed is divided into two types: winter rapeseed and spring rapeseed. Rapeseed seeds are mostly sown in spring and autumn; because climate and temperature differ between regions, the sowing season for rapeseed differs.
1. First prepare the seeds. Generally, select rapeseed seeds that are plump and free of pests and diseases.
2. Rapeseed seeds are very small, so impurities are easily mixed in; therefore, first remove the impurities and then sprout them. The sprouting method is fairly simple: just soak the rapeseed seeds in warm water at about 30 degrees for 5 hours, then take the seeds out and place them in a warm place. When 50% of the seeds show white sprouts, they can be sown.
3. Rapeseed likes light, so it is best to choose a place with good, sufficient sunlight for sowing. The soil should be loose and fertile, with good aeration and drainage. Before sowing, deeply turn and level the soil in advance.
4. When sowing rapeseed seeds, spread them evenly in the soil, then cover with a thin layer of soil. Do not sow too deep; keep the sowing depth at 1-2 cm, and note that the soil cover should not exceed 3 cm.
5. After sowing is complete, do a good job of weeding, and remove weak seedlings and diseased seedlings. After the seedlings are established, fertilize in time. During the growth period, rapeseed is easily attacked by aphids and cabbage caterpillars, and spraying can be combined with insecticide.
Growing rapeseed needs to suit local conditions; the types grown differ with the climate of different regions. Only by combining with local conditions can you grow good vegetables.
