China is one of the places of origin of roses. Rose flowers are beautiful and graceful, with diverse colors and forms, and are deeply loved by people. In China, 52 cities have chosen it as their city flower, and it is ranked fifth among China's top ten famous flowers. So when is the blooming season for roses?
When Do Roses Bloom
The natural blooming season for roses is from May to October, with two peak blooming periods throughout the year, namely June and October. The rest of the time is a sparse blooming period. Through proper artificial control, their blooming season can be changed. If a greenhouse can be kept above 10°C in winter, it can be made to bloom continuously. But it is necessary to choose free-flowering varieties that are robust in growth, highly cold-resistant, and have long flower stalks. Some varieties, after a short period of cold-induced dormancy and then being placed in a heated greenhouse with increased light, can be controlled to bloom during the Spring Festival, such as varieties like 'Paradise' and 'French Girl'. Sometimes, for some special needs, flower suppression can also be carried out. That is, normally not allowing them to bloom, and removing flower buds as soon as they appear, to encourage the plant to branch more. When blooming is desired, prune 40-50 days in advance, and when the time comes, they can bloom with bright flowers right on schedule.
