In March, the plum blossoms of Yinhe, white as snow, are unforgettable, and the fruit borne on branches once covered in plum blossoms will make your mouth water. So when do Yinhe plums ripen?

In early July, Yinhe plums ripen, with the main variety “Crooked-Mouth Plum” being as big as a baby's fist, with a slanted top shaped like a longevity peach, thin skin, a free stone, and a crisp, sweet, juicy flesh. It is a famous fruit of Chongqing, and Tongjing was therefore rated as “China's Hometown of Plums.”

Although Yinhe has the largest contiguous plum groves in Chongqing, the “Crooked-Mouth Plum” has limited output, and most of it was previously used for export, so although its reputation is loud, very few people have actually tasted it, just as local fruit farmers say: “Most of what is on the market is a fake.” In recent years, the Yinhe area has vigorously developed the Crooked-Mouth Plum, expanded the planting scale, and plum output has climbed year by year. Huoshao Slope, Maoling Slope, Shuishui Dam, and Tuoban Mountain are the four major orchards and the main production areas of Yinhe Crooked-Mouth Plums. Because of scientific management and care, the plums from these four orchards are large, authentic in taste, ecologically pollution-free, and of excellent quality. In addition, about 15 km of flower-viewing and fruit-picking trails have been specially built in the orchards, making them the first choice for citizens to pick their own fruit. This year, the four major orchards are expected to produce nearly 10,000 tons, fully sufficient to meet the picking needs of citizens.
