How to Plant Turf? The Planting Methods Explained in One Article
Turf is artificially cultivated green plant material, often used for ground covering in parks and sports venues. Today let's learn how turf should be planted.
How to Plant Turf
1. Choose a good planting site. Turf plants have a relatively developed root system, so the soil layer needs to be thick, and the selected soil should be of good quality. Before planting, first clear the weeds and stones from the land, then plow the land, level the uneven areas, and finally spread base fertilizer. Replace poor or mixed soil.
2. The following methods can be chosen for turf planting. Sowing method: mainly sowing seeds into the soil through mechanical operation, then cultivating them. Sod laying method: forming turf into blocks and laying them seamlessly. Grass stem broadcasting method: taking young shoots or grass stems from under the mother turf and broadcasting them into the soil for cultivation. Vegetation belt laying method: spreading seeds and fertilizer on non-woven fabric to cultivate turf. Planting method: carried out through plant propagation, transplanting grass blocks with root-protecting soil into furrows for cultivation.
3. After planting is completed, during the turf growth process, maintenance and management are needed. Before the rainy season, transpiration is high, so watering is needed multiple times; when the rainy season arrives, watering can be stopped. To keep the turf emerald green in color and dense in growth, fertilization must be appropriate. Nitrogen fertilizer is essential. Turf tank planting does not require much pruning; when it grows to a certain height, it needs to be trimmed. Remove weeds promptly when they appear.
The planting workload for turf is still relatively large, and planning needs to be carried out according to actual conditions.
