First, choose a suitable container, add baking soda and water, stir well, then place a few damp paper towels on top. Next, put the cut-off root base of the enoki mushrooms on the damp paper towels, seal the container with plastic wrap, and place it in a cool, ventilated environment. Enoki mushrooms are a type of fungus with a very strong ability to regenerate. Keep the environment moist and alkaline, maintain the temperature at around 5-10 degrees, and they will sprout in about a week.

1. Cut off the root base: At the market, choose ones with a relatively intact root base; it is even better if a little soil is still attached. Then cut off the harder, darker part of the root base. If the root base is darker in color or relatively hard, this part can be cut off; if the enoki mushrooms are relatively hard, cut off more.

2. Prepare the container: Choose a suitable container about 10 cm tall, then put two or three spoonfuls of baking soda into the container. If there is no baking soda, edible alkali can be used instead, then add an appropriate amount of water. The water level should be about half the height of the root system. Stir well, then place a few damp paper towels on the bottom of the container. Alternatively, prepare a plastic bag, put a piece of paper towel inside, and moisten the paper towel with baking soda water.

3. Place the root base: Put the cut-off root base of the enoki mushrooms on the damp paper towels in the container, then seal the container with plastic wrap and place it in a cool, ventilated environment; or put the cut-off root base on a paper towel moistened with baking soda water, then put it in a plastic bag, seal it well, and place it in a dark place where sunlight cannot reach at all.

4. Wait for regrowth: Enoki mushrooms are a type of fungus with a very strong ability to regenerate. As long as the environment is suitable, they can grow quickly. We have provided them with a moist and alkaline environment. Keep the temperature at around 5-10 degrees, and they can grow on their own. They will sprout in about a week, and in about 2 weeks a new batch of enoki mushrooms can be harvested.
