Can Goji Leaves Be Eaten? A Detailed Guide to the Nutritional Value of Goji Leaves
Goji leaves can be eaten, but not directly; they can be used to make tea, and have health benefits such as nourishing the liver and improving eyesight, and softening blood vessels.
1. How to cook goji leaves
1. Rinse the pork liver you bought under the tap, then soak it in clean water for about 30 minutes
2. Cut the soaked pork liver into thin slices
3. Add 10 grams of starch, 1 small spoon of cooking wine and 2 small spoons of soy sauce to the sliced pork liver and marinate for 5 minutes
4. Rinse the whole goji plant first, then soak it in clean water for more than 10 minutes, rinse it again with water, and pick off the leaves for later use
5. Put an appropriate amount of water, ginger slices and vegetable oil in a pot, bring to a boil, and add the goji berries
6. After the water boils, add the goji leaves
7. After adding the goji leaves, bring to a boil
8. Add the marinated pork liver
9. Boil again for about 1 minute, add salt, and turn off the heat
Note: People with high blood pressure, coronary heart disease, obesity and high blood lipids should avoid eating pork liver, because liver has a relatively high cholesterol content.
