Oxheart cabbage and common cabbage are both head cabbage, but oxheart cabbage is what people call the green head cabbage, while there are many varieties of common cabbage, and oxheart cabbage should be considered one of them. Their ways of eating differ: common cabbage is generally stir-fried, while oxheart cabbage is generally made into pickles. Their effects are similar, but each has its own strengths: oxheart cabbage is somewhat better at clearing heat and detoxifying, while common cabbage is somewhat better at preventing and fighting cancer and treating stomach ulcers.
2. How is oxheart cabbage made into pickles?
Step one, prepare one oxheart cabbage, tear off the leaves along the grain, and rinse them clean under running water.
Step two, put the rinsed oxheart cabbage in a basin, add water until the leaves are covered, add an appropriate amount of salt, and soak for 10 minutes.
Step two, take out the soaked oxheart cabbage leaves, drain the water, and cut them on a cutting board into evenly thick fine shreds.
Step four, put the cut oxheart cabbage into a container, add minced garlic and salt, cover the container tightly, and shake for a while so the salt, minced garlic and oxheart cabbage mix evenly. If you want it spicy, you can add some chili. Leave it at room temperature for four or five days, and when you see the color of the vegetable turn yellow, you can take it out and eat it.
