Detailed Explanation of Matsutake Cultivation Techniques and Management Points
Matsutake is a natural medicinal fungus. Its usual selling price is relatively high, but its nutritional value is also much higher. Because market demand keeps increasing, the number of farmers cultivating it is also growing. So what are the matsutake cultivation techniques?
Matsutake Cultivation Techniques
1. Building and turning the pile
You need to use bagasse, or corn stalks or wheat straw, wood shavings, and rice straw or thatch. Then add an appropriate amount of cow dung and a small amount of chemical fertilizer, mix evenly, and pile it together. After about a week, turn it once to aid fermentation. After that, turn it once every three to four days to keep the entire nutrient material in good condition.
2. Feeding and bed preparation
Place the processed nutrient material onto the cultivation bed and spread it evenly and flatly. The thickness of the nutrient material is best at about 20 cm. The ambient temperature can be adjusted to 50-60 degrees.
3. Sowing management
For indoor cultivation, simply spread the material and cover it with soil. For outdoor cultivation, an additional layer of plastic film needs to be added to provide insulation. Indoors, we need to ventilate from time to time to maintain air circulation indoors, while outdoors the film needs to be uncovered about once every three days for ventilation.
4. Mushroom fruiting management
Ventilation must be carried out at least twice a day, generally around seven or eight in the morning and around six or seven in the evening, continuing until the matsutake can be harvested.
Cultivating matsutake is not simple. It requires a lot of patience and cultivation skill, so it is recommended that everyone study the details more before deciding.
