Heyu 187 is not a genetically modified variety. Heyu 187 is a corn variety bred from the variety V76-1×WC009. It was approved on June 29, 2017 at the ninth meeting of the Third National Crop Variety Approval Committee, with approval number: Guoshenyu 20170014.

I. Introduction to Heyu 187 variety seeds

1. Characteristics

The maturity period is comparable to that of the control variety Jidan 27. The seedling leaf sheath is purple, the leaves are green, the leaf margins are purple, the anthers are light purple, and the glumes are green. The plant type is semi-compact, the plant height is 282 cm, the ear height is 102.9 cm, and the number of leaves on the mature plant is 18. The silks are green, the ear is cylindrical, the ear length is 20.9 cm, the number of rows per ear is 14-16, the cob is red, the kernels are yellow and dent type, and the 100-kernel weight is 40.6 g. Inoculation identification: moderately resistant to stalk rot, susceptible to northern leaf blight, head smut, ear rot, and gray leaf spot. The kernel test weight is 759 g/L, the crude protein content is 8.16%, the crude fat content is 4.43%, the crude starch content is 74.66%, and the lysine content is 0.26%.

2. Yield performance

From 2014 to 2015, it participated in the regional trial of early-maturing spring corn varieties in Northeast China. The two-year average yield was 908.7 kg per mu, an increase of 10.8% over the control; in the 2016 production trial, the average yield was 857.0 kg per mu, an increase of 11.7% over the control.

3. Key points of cultivation techniques

Cultivate on plots with moderate fertility or above, sow from late April to early May, and plant at a density of 4000-4500 plants per mu.
