How should you use treatments during the grape flowering period to improve the fruit set rate?
During the grape flowering period, gibberellin can be sprayed. At full bloom, dipping the flower clusters in a 25-40 ug/g gibberellin solution or spraying them can improve the fruit set rate and also cause the fruit to mature 15 days earlier. Gibberellin is a plant hormone that can act on crops such as cotton, grapes, vegetables, rice, and wheat, promoting flowering and fruiting, improving the seed-setting rate, and producing a significant yield-increasing effect.
In addition to using treatments, about one week before flowering, you can also pinch off the tip portion of the flower cluster, accounting for 1/5-1/3 of the flower cluster length, while also removing the secondary clusters and pinching off about 1/2 of the flower cluster branches and secondary branches, so that the flower cluster forms a short cylindrical shape, which helps improve the fruit set rate and increase berry weight. Before grapes flower, also spray once with a 0.2%-0.3% boric acid or 0.2% borax solution, spraying once every 5 days for 2-3 consecutive sprays, to improve flower quality, promote cap removal, and reduce large and small berries.
