A Detailed Guide to the Plant Growing Process: Complete Steps from Sowing to Harvest
Plants are an indispensable part of our lives, and different plants grow in different ways. So what does the plant growing process generally look like?
The Plant Growing Process
1. Choose a suitable planting site according to the plant's habits; generally speaking, it needs fertile soil and a deep soil layer. Some plants like sandy soil, while others like slightly acidic soil.
2. After choosing the planting site, we need to plow the land, remove debris, dig furrows if necessary, and then determine the base fertilizer to apply according to the plant variety.
3. Generally, planting is done from seed, which requires us to select intact, disease-free seeds. Some plant seeds do not germinate easily and need to be treated to promote germination; other plants can be grown from seedlings or tubers.
4. Many plant seedlings, after being grown in a nursery bed, need to be transplanted into the planting site.
5. During the plant's growth period, water and fertilizer need to be supplied according to specific stages. Some plants are heavy feeders, and nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizers must be applied promptly; some plants are drought-tolerant, and watering once the soil is dry is enough. During the growing process, attention must always be paid to drainage. If the plant flowers and bears fruit, nutritional fertilizer should also be applied well.
6. Some plants with dense branches and leaves need to be pruned. Fruit trees, for example, need flower and fruit thinning and crown pruning to promote fruit growth.
7. During the plant's growth process, pests and diseases are unavoidable, which requires us to take certain chemical treatments for prevention and control according to different situations.
The plant growing process is roughly these steps. Of course, specific types will differ, and cultivation still needs to be carried out according to actual conditions.
