Lemons are rich in vitamin C and also have effects such as resolving phlegm and relieving cough, and beautifying and whitening the skin, so they are sought after and loved by a large number of women. Moreover, lemons have a wide range of uses; they can be eaten directly, and can also be used in cooking and cosmetics, so the market scale is still very large, and the planting benefits are very good. Let us take a look at lemon cultivation techniques below.

I. Sowing and Raising Seedlings

There are many ways to raise lemon seedlings, and the sowing method is more suitable for raising seedlings on a large scale, and the speed is relatively fast. We select mother plants that are growing well and are free of diseases and pests, wait until around December when the ripe lemons can be picked, then place them in a relatively cool area for a few days, open the fruit, and be careful not to damage the seeds inside. After taking out the seeds, soak them in clean water for about 6 days, and after the moisture inside the seeds is saturated, tear off the seed coats and they can be sown. Also, while the seeds are soaking, we need to change the water every day. After sowing the seeds, we keep the field temperature between 15° and 24°, and after about 7 days the seeds will sprout.

II. Land Selection and Preparation

The lemon is a warm-natured plant and relatively prefers a warm environment. It has no resistance to cold environments and is also very afraid of heat, so lemons are relatively suitable for planting in southern regions. They grow very fast, so they have relatively high requirements for soil fertility. Therefore, when choosing a planting site, we should choose land with relatively loose soil texture, good fertility, and good drainage performance for planting. After choosing the land, we must plow the soil and expose it to the sun until it turns white, then dig holes at 75*75cm, with a planting amount of about 55 plants per mu. Fertilizer and soil should be mixed evenly and placed into the holes, then covered with a layer of soil, and then the planting can be carried out.

III. Planting

Wait until the young tree has grown to about 75cm. When planting, bring the soil around the roots together with the seedling, and be sure not to let the roots of the seedling be damaged. Then place the seedling vertically into the hole, spread out the roots, and then fill in soil. After filling in the soil, gently press the soil firm and level it. We should choose to plant in the afternoon or morning, or on cloudy days, and should not choose rainy days or noon. After planting is completed, we should water the roots of the seedlings with rooting water, and then use straw or plastic film to maintain humidity.

IV. Field Management

Lemon trees grow very quickly, so they need relatively more fertilizer and water. When watering, we should replenish water according to the moisture level of the soil and the weather conditions. In the first two years after planting lemon trees, nitrogen fertilizer should be added in a relatively timely manner to make the plants grow faster and better and to make the crown form quickly. After the crown has formed, we should adjust the use of nitrogen fertilizer to increase the use of other fertilizers. In addition, we should carry out timely soil loosening and weeding. Usually, about 4 rounds of intertillage should be carried out each year. It should be noted that when it is relatively hot in summer, water evaporates relatively quickly, so we should carry out timely intertillage before summer to keep the soil loose and reduce water loss.

The prospects for lemon cultivation are relatively promising, and it is also very easy to manage, but lemon trees are only suitable for growing in warm and humid environments, and the planting range is relatively small, so planting must be done according to local conditions.
