How Many Times Does Pink Eden Rose Bloom in a Year? A Detailed Guide to Its Blooming Pattern
Pink Eden Rose (Pierre de Ronsard) is a single-season bloomer, mainly flowering from May to June. However, when its large plants are properly cared for, they can produce a small second flush from August to September. Its small and medium-sized plants bloom in spring and generally flower only once. During its care, attention should be paid to the following points to help it rebloom.
1. Slow growth
Slow growth is a “common problem” of climbing roses, and when growing Eden Rose, if you start from a small seedling, it takes at least half a year to enter the vigorous growth stage. In addition, if it grows slowly, you should also consider whether there is a problem with the roots. Because rose seedlings mainly rely on the roots to absorb nutrients, only by making the roots plump and strong can they grow fast. Usually, water it with a root-protecting organic nutrient solution to make the roots stronger, which helps absorb the nutrient solution.
2. Fertilizing
If conditions permit, using an organic fertilizer specially made for roses is naturally best. During the growing season, apply a quick-acting fertilizer once every half month; before flowering, some phosphorus and potassium fertilizer can be used; in autumn and winter, give plenty of base fertilizer, and a certain amount of organic fertilizer can be buried near the roots; if the base fertilizer is sufficient, only a small amount of fertilizer is needed in spring. When applying fertilizer, also pay attention to balanced nutrients. After the rose forms buds, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer should be used to promote flowering and preserve the flowers.
3. Other points
During the care of Eden Rose, ensure the daytime temperature is above 25° and that there is sufficient light, so that the petals can open naturally.
In addition, when growing Eden Rose, you also need to bend the branches to stimulate budding, and you can train the branches horizontally or diagonally. In this way, it will sprout many branches in spring, and the flowers will also be more numerous.
