Garlic is a common seasoning in daily life and is used when cooking, but since garlic does not keep well and will sprout after a while, many people like to grow it on their balcony. So how do you grow garlic on a balcony?

1. Soil culture method

1. Prepare the pot and soil

To grow garlic at home, prepare the pot and soil. The size of the flower pot can simply be decided by how much you want to plant. The choice of soil can be fairly flexible. After preparing the soil, put it into the flower pot and water it appropriately, but do not let the soil turn into mud.

2. Select the garlic cloves

Before planting, select good garlic. It is best to use garlic bulbs whose outer skin is not damaged, and do not use garlic that has already rotted. Then soak the garlic in water for a while, peel it into individual cloves, and plant them in the soil with the outer skin still on; otherwise, they are more likely to rot after planting.

3. Plant them

Dig a few small holes in the prepared pot soil and plant the separated garlic cloves upward into the soil, or you can simply press the garlic into the soil. Cover the garlic bulbs with soil, leaving them slightly exposed above the soil, then water appropriately, as long as the garlic cloves are not washed away.

4. Planting and care

After planting, place the growing pot in a warmer spot, and the growing environment should have bright light. After about a week, they will sprout; a slightly slower batch may be delayed by 3-4 days.

2. Water culture method

Take sprouted garlic or unsprouted seed garlic, cut off the pointed tip, and place it in a container filled with water. Add a little nutrient solution to the water to speed up the growth of the garlic. Usually, you can place the garlic in a spot with some light and regularly use some nutrient solution so that after the garlic absorbs nutrients, it will rapidly put out new leaves.

Overall, growing garlic on a balcony is still very simple. Just prepare the soil and flower pot, separate the garlic cloves, peel off the outer skin, and plant them in the soil.
