How do you plant engraved beans so that they grow characters?
Engraved beans are also called magic beans. The seeds are large and plump, and laser engraving can be used to carve characters on them to make canned flowers. After engraving, the bean cotyledons that emerge will bear blessing words. So how do you plant engraved beans?
1. Engraved beans are suitable for planting and growing in all four seasons. They like warmth and tolerate heat. The suitable temperature for germination is 25-35°C, the suitable temperature for plant growth is 20-25°C, the suitable temperature for flowering and fruiting is 23-28°C, and 70% sunlight.
2. When planting, please ensure appropriate temperature and humidity. Under normal circumstances, the higher the temperature and the greater the humidity, the more favorable it is for the germination and growth of magic beans. After germination, expose them to as much sunlight as possible.
3. The first watering should be thorough, completely soaking the dry soilless growing medium until excess water flows out from the drainage holes. Place the magic beans in a place with high temperature, high humidity and good ventilation.
4. In summer, sunlight exposure is suitable; in winter, keep them indoors as much as possible and maintain a suitable temperature. If conditions permit, you can cover the opening of the container with a transparent material to form a small greenhouse, which increases the temperature and humidity inside the container and can greatly increase the germination rate and shorten the germination time.
5. Every 2—3 days, when you see the surface of the soilless growing medium become dry, spray a small amount of water to keep it moist. If you see that the surface is still wet, do not water it. Be sure not to water too much or too frequently, so as not to affect the respiration of the bean seed, otherwise the bean seed will rot and marks will appear on the surface.
6. After about 7—15 days, the magic beans with characters can grow out and show their magic.
7. The bean cotyledons with characters can last 1—3 months, then fall off, and the plant will continue to grow.
8. Engraved beans are climbing plants, and building a trellis can be more conducive to their growth. They can be transplanted into a larger flower pot or into the ground, and with a good flower trellis set up, they will bloom and bear fruit if you take good care of them.
If planted in winter when the temperature is relatively low, the beans may grow relatively slowly. When planting in winter, you can peel off the outer skin, so that germination will be faster.
