How to Grow Echeveria 'Blood Robin'? Detailed Guide to Cultivation Methods and Precautions
Because of factors such as its compact and adorable appearance and low care difficulty, succulents have been standouts in flower sales in recent years. But for beginners, how to grow them is still a problem. Below, taking Echeveria 'Blood Robin' as an example, we will discuss daily care methods. Friends who like it can give it a try.
How to grow Echeveria 'Blood Robin'?
1. Sufficient light
The most important condition for growing Echeveria 'Blood Robin' is to ensure sufficient light duration. Only when the leaves receive more than 6 hours of light can they remain more vivid and plump. However, the light must not be too intense; diffused light or semi-shaded conditions are most suitable. Too strong light will scorch the leaves and cause them to turn black.
2. Soil preparation
Echeveria 'Blood Robin' has fleshy roots, and its roots are easily damaged during cultivation, so soil made from a mix of akadama and peat should be used for growing it. Akadama is a relatively soft granular material that is not likely to damage the roots, and the soil it forms is relatively loose with very strong drainage capacity, which can reduce the occurrence of water accumulation.
3. Moderate watering
Echeveria 'Blood Robin' does not have high water requirements. In daily care, the watering frequency is generally about once a week. In summer, Echeveria 'Blood Robin' will enter a dormant state, stop growing and developing, and at this time watering should be stopped or reduced. In winter, if the temperature drops below 5°C, watering should also be reduced in time, and watering can be done when the potting soil becomes dry.
