Xinhui Chenpi is produced in Xinhui District, Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province. It is a local specialty and also a China National Geographical Indication product. It has the effects of regulating qi and redirecting rebellious qi, harmonizing the middle and opening the appetite, and drying dampness and transforming phlegm. It mainly treats syndromes such as qi stagnation and dampness obstruction in the spleen and stomach, chest and diaphragm fullness and oppression, abdominal distension and pain, and lack of desire for food and drink. 1. Difference in source
Chenpi generally refers to the dried mature fruit of citrus plants in the Rutaceae family, such as tangerine peel, mandarin peel, Xinhui Chenpi, and so on. What makes Xinhui Chenpi different is that it comes from the fruit grown on a citrus tree of a variety called Chazhi Gan, grown in Xinhui District, Jiangmen, Guangdong, and it is a National Geographical Indication protected product. In addition, Xinhui Chenpi has had many alternative names historically, such as Guang Chenpi, Xinhui Ganpi, and Gangzhou Pi.
2. Production area
Ordinary Chenpi is mainly produced in Fujian, Sichuan, Zhejiang, and other places. As a genuine regional medicinal material of Guangdong Province, Xinhui Chenpi is mainly produced in Xinhui, Jiangmen, Guangdong.
3. Composition
Xinhui Chenpi contains more than 24 kinds of volatile oil components, and its flavonoid components are far higher than those of non-local Chenpi. Its chemical components reach as many as 41 kinds, including 4 flavonoid carbon glycosides, 7 flavonoid oxygen glycosides, 19 methoxyflavones, 3 cyclic peptides, 4 sterols, 3 organic acids, and 1 alkaloid component, and so on. Chenpi from other regions has only 10 kinds of volatile oils or even fewer, and compared with Xinhui Chenpi, its medicinal and edible value is much lower.
Because the medicinal and edible value of Xinhui Chenpi is higher than that of ordinary Chenpi, its price is also much higher.
