Succulent seedlings bought from a flower and bird market or online are very easy to kill if you don't pay attention, so how do you plant succulent seedlings so they grow well? Let's find out together!

1. Pre-treatment

Cut off roots and leaves that are damaged, withered or rotted, then place them in a cool, shaded spot to dry for 1-2 days.

Many people think that removing these roots and leaves will affect the growth of the succulent, but that is not actually the case. Leaving these roots and leaves in place affects the succulent's growth even more. However, you must be careful during the removal process not to damage other healthy leaves and roots.

The reason freshly trimmed succulent seedlings cannot be planted right away is that the plant has wounds. Placing them in a cool, shaded spot to dry for 1-2 days allows the wounds to heal. If you are worried the seedlings will not survive, you can also soak the treated seedlings in a carbendazim solution for 5 minutes and then let them dry.

2. Transplanting

Put an appropriate amount of nutrient soil into the planting container, spray it lightly with water to moisten it, then carefully plant the succulent seedlings.

Generally, just spray the soil lightly to moisten it; do not spray too much, otherwise it will also affect the growth of the succulent seedlings.

3. Watering

In the early stage, you can refrain from watering; wait until the succulent seedlings have grown for a few days before watering.

The reason for not watering in the early stage is that the succulent seedlings are very fragile at this time, and too much watering can easily cause death. Moreover, the moisture from spraying the soil is enough for the succulent seedlings to grow.

4. Other Management

Simply provide appropriate light and fertilization according to the needs of the succulent seedlings.

Some succulents like light, some do not; some need fertilization, some do not need much. All of this needs to be judged according to the variety, analyzing each specific case individually.
