During festivals and holidays, many people go to flower shops to buy a bouquet to give to their relatives and friends. Although bouquets are beautiful, many people do not know how to handle them at home. Today we will briefly learn about how to care for flowers from a flower shop?

How to care for flowers from a flower shop

1. Flowers brought back from the flower shop are generally kept in water at home. First trim the bouquet, which can increase the water absorption of the stems; just cut the lower end of the stems diagonally at 2 cm.

2. Put the trimmed bouquet into a vase. The water level in the vase does not need to be too high; about 1 cm above the cut is enough. This allows the stems to absorb water while preventing the whole flower from soaking too much and producing an odor.

3. In spring and summer, generally change the water in the vase once a day; in autumn and winter, change it once every 2 days. After changing the water, trim the stems slightly.

4. Rootless fresh flowers placed in a vase are prone to withering. Generally, flowers in plain water last only three or four days before gradually wilting. Using tea water for the flowers can extend the blooming period, and they will not wither within seven days.

5. Besides tea water extending the blooming period, you can also add some beer to the vase, which can both disinfect the cut ends of the bouquet and provide certain nutrients.

6. After the flowers are placed in the vase, do not put them in direct sunlight, as this will cause the bouquet to lose water too quickly. Placing them in a normal indoor spot is enough.

Because flowers brought back from the flower shop no longer have roots, keeping them in water can only maintain their freshness for a few days.
