How to Grow Atractylodes lancea? A Detailed Guide to Planting Techniques and Cultivation Management
Atractylodes lancea is a perennial herbaceous plant of the genus Atractylodes in the Asteraceae family. It can be broadly divided into northern Atractylodes (Atractylodes lancea from the north) and southern Atractylodes (from the south), so how do you grow Atractylodes lancea?
1. Site Selection and Land Preparation
For planting Atractylodes lancea, choose deep soil with good drainage and humus loam to make the bed, apply 2000 kg of farmyard manure per mu, and generally adopt the technique of large ridges and high beds.
2. Thinning and Final Thinning
Thin Atractylodes lancea seedlings when they are 5-6 cm tall, and do the final thinning when they are 10-15 cm tall at a plant spacing of 15-20 cm and a row spacing of 25 cm.
3. Fertilizer and Water Management
During the seedling stage of Atractylodes lancea, apply decomposed, mild human and livestock manure water per mu, then topdress with decomposed human manure and urine plus superphosphate. Keep the soil moist frequently before and after emergence; water immediately to protect the seedlings after the soil thaws in early spring, and water promptly when the weather is dry and the soil is dry.
The rhizome of Atractylodes lancea is used as medicine; it is a spleen-moving medicine, bitter, warm, pungent and strong in nature, and has the effects of drying dampness, resolving turbidity, and relieving pain.
