How to Grow Echeveria agavoides 'Ebony'? Detailed Care Methods and Tips
The Ebony discussed today is not the precious wood, but a succulent of the genus Echeveria, a plant with leaves arranged in a rosette. Below, I will explain how to grow it.
How to grow Ebony?
1. Soil
Ebony generally grows on cliff faces, and Ebony is not picky about soil mix; loose, breathable soil is all it needs. But before planting, it is best to add appropriate fertilizer.
2. Pot choice
As for material, it depends on the region, personal preference and budget; plastic, red clay or purple clay are all fine. As for size, it should be at least 2 cm larger than the Ebony you bought, that is, after the Ebony is planted in it, the outer edge of the leaves should be about 2 cm away from the pot rim, so that it has enough space to root and grow.
3. Watering
For watering during normal care, the principle is “dry before wet”, that is, let it dry to 70-80%, then water it thoroughly. During the growing season the potting soil needs to be slightly moist; in the hot summer and cold winter, the frequency of watering needs to be reduced.
4. Light
Ebony likes strong light; in normal care, stronger light is no problem. In the summer sun, try to rely mainly on scattered light.
