How to plant apricot seeds? Teaching you the correct method for planting apricot seeds
After soaking the stored apricot seeds, put them in a plastic bag and place them directly under sunlight to dry. Sprinkle water and stir once every 2-3 days. After 15 days, once the pits have cracked, sow them. Before sowing, irrigate once. After thorough penetration, apply sufficient base fertilizer, then prepare the land, open furrows and sow in rows, and raise seedlings. After the seedlings are raised, the following points should be done well:
1. Field planting
Apply about 10 kg of decomposed organic fertilizer per hole. When field planting, plant the seedlings separately according to grade. Place the seedling into the hole, and when the soil has covered 1/3, lift the seedling upward a little to let the root system spread out fully, then add soil and firm it down. After planting, irrigate thoroughly to settle the planting hole.
2. Fertilizer and water
When the new shoots have grown to about 15 cm, begin applying quick-acting fertilizer, alternating between soil topdressing and foliar spraying. From the end of September to early October, apply organic fertilizer and compound fertilizer. After covering the shed, apply urea before budding; after flower fall and during the fruit enlargement stage, topdress with potassium sulfate compound fertilizer; spray urea and monopotassium phosphate every 10-15 days; in addition, a 500-fold yield-increasing bacterium can be sprayed at the same time. After the seedlings are field planted, water once thoroughly; afterward, determine the amount and timing of watering according to specific conditions.
3. Management
At the end of May and beginning of June, determine the trunk and shoots, and from fruit enlargement to before fruit maturity, pinch the new shoots multiple times. For young trees and trees bearing fruit for the first time, winter pruning should take into account both shaping and fruiting; for trees in full fruit-bearing stage, according to branch vigor and the spatial conditions of each part of the canopy, appropriately thin or dense branches and cut back weak ones, so as to maintain a stable fruiting position and growth vigor. For trees in the aging stage, the main aim is to promote the sprouting of latent buds for renewal.
In addition, from the beginning of winter to before germination, clear away dead branches and fallen leaves in the orchard, prune off diseased branches, and destroy them in a centralized manner, scrape off old bark, and eliminate overwintering sources of pests and diseases to reduce the pest and disease base. For others, spray corresponding agents according to the patterns of disease occurrence.
