How to Grow Bell Peppers? Detailed Planting Methods and Care Tips
Bell pepper is a type of sweet pepper, named for its bright and multi-colored appearance. Biologically it is a hybrid plant, so how do you grow bell peppers?
1. Soil
Growing colorful peppers does not have high soil requirements, but it is best to use fertile, well-draining sandy soil.
2. Watering
Colorful peppers like a moist growing environment, but the amount of water must not be too much. If too much water is given, it will cause leaf drop and root rot. During the peak growing period, water 1-2 times a day. During the flowering period, control the amount of water, watering about once every 2 days, as long as the potting soil remains moist.
3. Light
Colorful peppers like sunlight. Give them at least 4 hours of light every day. If there is not enough light, they will not bloom. You can place them in a south-facing spot indoors.
4. Fertilizing
Colorful peppers like fertilizer, but do not apply too much additional fertilizer during the growing period, as it may cause excessive growth of branches and leaves. During the growing period, an appropriate amount of phosphorus fertilizer can be applied.
Bell peppers are rich in various vitamins (abundant vitamin C) and trace elements. They can not only improve dark spots and freckles, but also have effects such as relieving summer heat, replenishing blood, preventing colds, and promoting blood circulation.
