How to Plant a Peach Pit So It Sprouts and Grows
Peaches are one of the fruits we eat quite a lot in summer, and every variety is popular. So do you know how to plant a peach pit? Let's take a look!
1. How to plant a peach pit
Select a fairly plump peach pit, crack the outer shell of the pit, and soak the pit in warm water. During the soaking, a tender sprout will slowly emerge, then peel off the outer skin at the sprouting spot. Lay gauze in a container, soak it through with warm water and keep it in a warm place. After about 3 to 4 days, the little sprout will grow bigger; then plant the sprouted part in soil and tend it carefully.
2. Points to note when planting a peach pit
1. Preparation before sowing
Choose a plump peach pit, gently crack its outer shell, and be very careful not to damage the inner pit; soak the pit in 45-degree clean water.
2. Sprouting treatment
After soaking for 1 to 2 days, the pit will send out a tender sprout. At this point, remove the pit and gently peel off the skin at the sprouting spot. Lay 3 to 4 layers of gauze in a container, soak it through with warm water, then place the pit on top, cover the head and tail of the pit with more gauze, then cover the container with a plastic bag and keep it in a warm place.
3. Planting method
After about 3 to 4 days, when the pit's little sprout has grown bigger, peel off all the outer skin of the pit, place the sprouted part facing down, and plant it in a flowerpot prepared in advance with sandy soil. After planting, cover the surface of the container with a layer of plastic film and keep it in a warm place; after about 1 week, a tender sprout will grow.
