Garlic chives are grown throughout our country, and garlic chives have very strong adaptability, tolerating both cold and heat, and are cultivated in most regions. So how do you grow garlic chive seedlings? 1. Land preparation The garlic chive seedling bed should be easy to drain and irrigate, and should be sandy loam or clay loam where allium vegetables have not been grown in the past 1-2 years. Deep plow before winter, water to freeze, and in the following spring harrow and plow while the ground is still frozen to preserve soil moisture. Apply 4-5 cubic meters of decomposed farmyard manure per mu. To prevent onion maggots, use 5% phoxim granules at one kilogram per mu, add 10-15 kilograms of dry fine soil, spread evenly, shallow plow and then harrow finely, level and make beds, bed width 1.2-1.5 m, length 7-10 m, for easy management.

1. Land preparation

The garlic chive seedling bed should be easy to drain and irrigate, and should be sandy loam or clay loam where allium vegetables have not been grown in the past 1-2 years. Deep plow before winter, water to freeze, and in the following spring harrow and plow while the ground is still frozen to preserve soil moisture. 2. Raising seedlings

Garlic chive seedlings grow slowly, so they should be sown early at the right time, preferably from late March to late April. After soaking the seeds to promote germination, use the wet sowing method to broadcast them in the seedling bed, covering soil in two passes: first cover with a thin layer of soil, and after it becomes moist again cover a second time, with a total soil cover thickness of 2 cm, using 6-8 kilograms of seed per mu. After covering with soil, cover with a layer of plastic film to help raise temperature and preserve moisture, and remove the film after the seedlings emerge. Generally, seedlings from 1 mu can plant 7-9 mu of vegetable field.
