How to Grow Garlic in a Bottle? Detailed Methods and Steps
Garlic is a common seasoning in daily life. It can not only be eaten with cold dishes, but also put into soup to make broth. There are many ways to eat it, and it is very popular. However, garlic is not easy to store, and after being left for a while it will sprout, so many people, after buying garlic, will plant it in a bottle. So how do you grow garlic in a bottle?
1. Cut the bottle
Wash the bottle clean, and cut off the base part with a small knife. The height should be a little more than the height of one garlic clove, so as to ensure that the garlic fits in just right.
2. Select the seed
Choose garlic that is larger in size, undamaged on the outside, free of disease, and plump and full, and remove the outer skin. In order to make it sprout faster, soak the peeled garlic in water and take it out after about 12 hours.
3. Planting
(1) Hydroponics: If you want to use the hydroponic method, it is relatively simple. You can place the garlic neatly in a plastic bottle, taking care not to arrange them too tightly, then pour water over them, pouring until it is almost full. After that, it can be placed by the balcony, and water should be added in time when there is little left.
(2) Soil culture: The soil culture method is more troublesome, but the nutrients supplied are more sufficient, and the growth rate will be a bit faster. You can poke a hole in the bottom of the plastic bottle so that water can flow out normally. Put soil in the bottle, then place the garlic cloves in, pour in a sufficient amount of water, and also apply fertilizer to ensure nutrition, and place it in a sunny spot to promote photosynthesis.
