Peach Tree Planting Methods and Key Technical Points Explained
As a seasonal fruit, peaches are one of the varieties that sell very easily every time summer comes. Today, the editor will introduce to you how to plant peaches. Let's take a look!
How to plant peaches
1. Planting time
Peaches are generally planted in autumn, when the temperature is high and there is more rain. At this time, even if the roots are injured during planting, they can repair themselves, which can improve the survival rate. The specific time is between October and December. In addition, sandy soil should be chosen for planting.
2. Planting methods
1. Dig the ground and loosen the soil: Before planting, first loosen the soil and dig holes, and also apply an appropriate amount of fertilizer. An appropriate amount of fertilizer should be applied in each hole to increase nutrients. The density of the seedlings planted later is related to the amount of nutrients. If there are sufficient nutrients, plant them more densely; if the nutrient content is low, plant them more sparsely. About 56 to 74 seedlings are planted per mu.
2. Planting into the soil: Before planting, first check the root system of the young seedlings. If any are injured, cut them off first, and also properly prune the larger roots. When planting, straighten out the roots and carefully cover with soil. The thickness of the covering soil is about 50 cm, and press the soil firmly with your feet.
3. Dig a ditch and water: After planting, dig a circular ditch around the young seedlings to make watering easier. The amount of water must be enough to soak through the soil just filled in. After it has all seeped in, cover with dry grass to retain moisture.
