When is the ripening time of the wild apricot?
Wild apricots generally ripen around June. Wild apricots are mainly distributed in China's Longdong, Longnan and other areas. They have a wide range of uses and high economic value; they can be used to green barren hills and conserve soil and water, can also be used as medicine, and are also a nourishing delicacy.
Growth habits of the wild apricot
1. Strong adaptability, sun-loving, with a well-developed root system that reaches deep underground, and characterized by cold resistance, drought resistance and tolerance of poor soil.
2. It can overwinter and grow safely at low temperatures of -30°C to -40°C. In the dry season from July to August, when the soil moisture content is only 3-5%, the wild apricot's leaves remain deep green and its growth is normal.
3. It grows well on deep loess or alluvial soil; it grows poorly on low-temperature and salinized soil.
4. After planting, it begins to bear fruit in 4-5 years and enters the full fruiting period in 10-15 years, with a relatively long lifespan. If frost or cloudy and rainy weather occurs during the flowering period, yields are easily reduced, and production is unstable.
5. It often grows on dry, sunny slopes, hilly grasslands, or mixed with deciduous trees and shrubs, at an altitude of 700-2000 m.
