Soybeans, also known as what we call soybean, are cultivated all over the country and are one of China's main grain crops for Chinese medicine, rich in plant protein. How should soybeans be grown for better results?

How should soybeans be grown

1. Soybeans are relatively easy to grow. For high yields, it is best to choose fertile, loose soil with good drainage as the planting site. Deeply plow and prepare the seedbed, and scatter an appropriate amount of farmyard manure as base fertilizer.

2. Sow the soybean seeds on the prepared seedbed, keeping the spacing between each plant at about 30-50 cm. Before sowing, water the seedbed first, and after sowing, cover the seeds with soil. When the seedlings grow to 4-5 cm, they can be transplanted and set out.

3. After transplanting and setting out, irrigate the entire soybean field once. One week later, weed and fertilize the soybeans, then water again. The fertilizers applied are generally compound fertilizer and urea. The second fertilization should be done when the soybeans flower and form pods; to make the pods plump, some phosphorus and potassium fertilizer can be applied.

4. The bean hawkmoth harms soybean leaves. When the pest infestation is severe, it can eat the soybean plants down to bare stalks, causing the plants to fail to form pods. At this point, a fenvalerate solution should be sprayed immediately for control.

5. Root rot often occurs at the seedling stage. When it occurs, brown oval lesions appear at the base of the stem, slightly sunken, and as the disease worsens the stem base rots, and in severe cases it can cause the plant to die. Once discovered, pesticides such as Duokefu, Soybean Micro-Compound Medicinal Fertilizer No. 1, and Fuduofu should be sprayed immediately for control.

6. Soybeans do not mature uniformly. When the soybean pods feel relatively hard to the touch, they can be harvested. For the first harvest, pick the pods; at the second maturity, the entire soybean plant can be cut down. After harvesting, the next steps are sun-drying and threshing, after which the seeds can be cleaned out.

Soybean cultivation methods are relatively simple. The above content is mainly to provide some reference for those who need it, and the specific operations still need to be carried out according to actual conditions.
