Can morel mushrooms be grown in Guangdong?
Morel mushroom is a kind of fungus whose appearance resembles a sheep's stomach, with high edible value, generally grown wild, suitable for men, women, the young and the old alike, and at present some regions are also carrying out artificial cultivation, so can morel mushrooms be grown in Guangdong?
Morel mushrooms can be grown in Guangdong, but at present our country's cultivation technology is not yet mature, so growing them successfully is a bit difficult; however, you can first try growing a few, and once successful, plant them on a large scale. The artificial cultivation techniques are as follows:
1. Temperature and humidity: Morel mushroom is a low-temperature, high-humidity type fungus, mostly occurring after rain from March to May, and occasionally from August to September, with a long growth period; besides requiring a relatively low temperature, it also needs a large temperature difference to stimulate mycelium differentiation. The mycelium growth temperature is 21-24°C, the fruiting body formation and development temperature is 4.4-16°C, and the relative air humidity is 65%-85%. For this reason, the cultivation time should be November to December.
2. Soil conditions: The soil pH value should be 6.5-7.5; neutral or slightly alkaline soil is favorable for morel mushroom growth. Morels often grow in limestone or chalk soil, and can grow in humus soil, black or yellow loam, and sandy mixed soil.
3. Cultivation methods: The cultivation methods for morel mushrooms are mainly indoor bag-removal cultivation, outdoor bag-removal cultivation and outdoor raw-material cultivation. Humidity management: Morel mushrooms like moisture, and the growing environment must maintain humidity. When cultivated outdoors, in winter and especially in early spring, if there is more rain and the temperature is suitable, the mycelium and fruiting bodies grow well; if there is drought in early spring, watering must be done in good time.
