How to grow pothos? Detailed guide to cultivation methods and precautions
Pothos is a green parasitic climbing plant, very suitable for growing at home, so how do you grow pothos?
1. Soil
For potted pothos, you can choose fertile, loose, well-draining leaf mold soil, preferably slightly acidic. This can promote the later growth of pothos.
2. Light
Pothos is extremely shade-tolerant and can be placed anywhere indoors in a sunny spot. In a dimly lit room, it should be moved every half month to a bright environment for a period of recovery, otherwise the internodes tend to lengthen and the leaves become smaller.
3. Fertilizer and water management
Pothos likes a hot and humid environment. The overwintering temperature should not be lower than 15°C. The potting soil should be kept moist, and water should often be sprayed on the leaf surface to increase air humidity, which helps the growth of aerial roots. During the vigorous growth period, a liquid fertilizer can be applied once a month.
If you feel that pothos is growing slowly, you can appropriately increase the nutrient solution to speed up growth.
