Aeroponics Explained: A New Soilless Growing Method
We all know that sweet potatoes grow in soil, and the total biomass of their vines reaches only a few dozen meters, but the sweet potatoes here have a total vine biomass length of several hundred meters, and after only a short period of cultivation they can reach over a hundred meters of biomass. This requires a special growing technique: instead of being planted in soil as in the traditional way, they are grown using aeroponics.
That is, the root system is completely exposed to the air, and the nutrient solution is sprayed directly onto the roots in the form of a fine mist. In this way, the nutrients and oxygen needed for the growth of the sweet potato are supplied as fully as possible, and the growth of the root system is unrestricted, so its growth rate is four to five times faster than ordinary soil cultivation. Of course, this requires intelligent control by a smart computer, which produces the mist according to temperature and light: when the temperature rises, water evaporates faster, so more mist is produced; when the light is strong, the misting becomes more frequent. In this way, plants will not lose water due to an insufficient water supply, creating the best growing environment for the sweet potato. With the rise of agritourism and rooftop greening, aeroponics will be a very good choice and will also bring huge profit potential.
