Buckwheat sprouts are a very popular dish because buckwheat sprouts help lower blood pressure, blood lipids and blood sugar to some extent, and they can strengthen insulin sensitivity. So how do you grow buckwheat sprouts?

Seed soaking

Choose fresh buckwheat seeds from the current year, sieve them to remove impurities, then sun-dry the seeds for 1-2 days (in summer, they can only be sun-dried for 2-3 hours), then soak the seeds in clean water, remove the shriveled seeds and broken seeds floating on the surface, scoop out the seeds and rinse them 2-3 times, then soak them again in clean water. In summer, soak the seeds for 10-16 hours; in winter, soak them for 20-24 hours. After soaking, wash them clean and drain the water. You can mix the seeds with Lvheng No. 2 to prevent seed rot, seedling rot and root rot. One 20-gram packet of Lvheng No. 2 can be mixed with 20 jin of dry seeds.

Sowing

Line a seedling tray with a layer of newspaper, sow 150-200 grams of dry seeds per tray, then stack 10-20 trays together. The bottom tray is an empty tray lined with double layers of wet newspaper, and the top tray is also an empty tray lined with wet newspaper. Keep the indoor temperature at 22-26°C to promote sprouting for about 3 days. When the seedlings grow to 1-2 cm, put them on the shelves separately. During the sprouting period, turn the trays once a day, and at the same time spray water once with a manual sprayer to keep the seeds and substrate moist.
