In recent years, the market prospects for honey pomelo have become better and better. When it comes to honey pomelo varieties, the first one everyone may think of is red-fleshed honey pomelo. In fact, there are also Sanhong honey pomelo, white-fleshed honey pomelo, yellow-fleshed honey pomelo and other varieties that all belong to the honey pomelo series. Below is an introduction to honey pomelo cultivation techniques.

1. Flower thinning

During the flower bud morphological differentiation stage, thin flowers on the fruiting mother branches. At the flower bud stage, first thin the inflorescences and then thin the flower buds. Master the flower-thinning principle of “remove the head and tail and keep the middle”, and select and retain 2-3 robust flowers per cluster. All early summer shoots should be removed completely to concentrate the tree's nutrients for the growth and development of flowers and fruits.

2. Fruit thinning

Reasonably adjusting the fruit load per tree can effectively reduce the fruit granulation rate. Generally, the single fruit weight should be controlled at about 1.5 kg. After the physiological fruit drop in early May, determine the fruit retention amount in 2-3 rounds according to the tree's vigor, remove diseased and insect-damaged fruits, deformed fruits and weak small fruits, and try to distribute the retained fruits evenly in the middle and lower parts of the canopy.

3. Bagging

Begin bagging the fruits 60 days after the pomelo flowers fade. Before bagging (on a sunny day), spray the entire orchard thoroughly with high-efficiency, low-toxicity, low-residue pesticides, and carry out bagging 4 hours after the liquid dries. Arrange the workload reasonably to ensure that fruit bagging can be completed within 3 days after spraying so as to guarantee the efficacy of the pesticide and the bagging effect.
