How to Grow Lotus from Seeds? Planting Method from Sowing to Blooming
Many flower enthusiasts like aquatic plants in summer, especially the lotus, which is very distinctive. So how do you grow lotus from seeds?
1. First, select lotus seeds with relatively good growth potential, which need to have their skins on the outside, with no damage or disease, so that they can lay the foundation for later growth.
2. Use a sharp knife to cut off 2-3 mm of the seed coat at the top end, so that during the later soaking, water can easily enter the inside.
3. Then place them in a container, pour in an appropriate amount of water, and soak in the water for about 2-3 days. After observing that they have absorbed water and become swollen, they can be taken out of the water and planted in a flower pot. For the potting soil inside, choose one with a loose texture and relatively good permeability.
4. Afterward, take the pot and place it into a large water vat, keeping 3-4 cm of water above. Keep the surrounding temperature at around 25-30 degrees, and wait for about 8-10 days, and fine sprouts will be able to grow. After that, leaves will gradually grow, and by the second year, flowers can bloom.
