Rainbow chrysanthemum is a kind of chrysanthemum, cool in nature and bitter in taste, produced in the high mountains of Tibet. It has the effects of dispelling wind and clearing heat, calming the liver and improving eyesight, and also has a unique cosmetic effect; long-term drinking has a very good effect on facial beauty in women. Below let us learn how to grow rainbow chrysanthemum.
1. Planting
Rainbow chrysanthemum is relatively widely cultivated in Southeast Asia and Europe and America, and is also cultivated in China, with wild plants in Xinjiang. It can grow in general soil, but grows best in poor sandy loam and sunny locations. Cultivation is mainly carried out by sowing. In spring it can be sown in an open-air seedbed, or in early spring it can be sown in pots in a hotbed or greenhouse. The suitable germination temperature is about 15-20°C. After sowing, the soil covering should not be thick; it emerges in about 1 week, with uniform germination. After 1 transplanting, the seedlings can be planted out when they have 7-8 leaves.
2. Management
Plant 1 rainbow chrysanthemum per pot. For flower beds and fields, the row spacing is 60-80 cm. After planting, water thoroughly, then water again when dry; water quickly and drain quickly so that no water accumulates at the roots. Drain in the rainy season to prevent waterlogging. Usually, dig holes away from the seedling roots and bury decomposed poultry and livestock manure or nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium multi-element fertilizer, in small amounts applied multiple times. In dry seasons, red spiders are prone to appear, and in rainy seasons, cabbage caterpillars and similar pests are prone to appear, damaging leaves or flowers. High-efficiency, low-toxicity pesticides should be sprayed on the leaves and flowers. Within 30 days after using the pesticide, the flowers must not be picked to soak in water for drinking.
