Cherry trees are grown in many parts of our country. Recently, some fruit growers in Jiangxi have been asking about growing cherries in Jiangxi. So can cherries be grown in Jiangxi?

1. Can cherries be grown in Jiangxi?

In fact, the climate of each region differs to some extent, but in the environment of Jiangxi, cherries cannot grow well, and cherries are rarely grown in Jiangxi. There are relatively few cherry saplings sold locally. Cherry trees like to grow in sunlight, but the sunlight in Jiangxi is too strong, which may affect the normal growth of cherry trees.

If you want to grow cherries in Jiangxi, it should be decided according to the local actual environment and variety. At present, most of our country's cherry trees are in Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Shandong, Anhui, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Henan, Gansu, Shaanxi, and Sichuan.

2. The growing environment of cherries

Cherry is a fruit tree that likes light, warmth, moisture, and fertilizer. It is suitable for growing under climatic conditions with an average annual temperature of 10-12°C, annual precipitation of 600-700mm, and annual sunshine hours of more than 2600-2800h. It can grow well and bear fruit normally in places where the period with an average daily temperature above 10°C is 150-200d, and the extreme minimum temperature in winter is not lower than -20°C. If there is frost damage locally, the cherry orchard site can be chosen on a northwest slope where the temperature rises slowly in spring and the air circulates. Considering that the cherry root system is shallow and easily blown over by wind, the orchard site should preferably be in a section not exposed to wind damage, and the soil should preferably be sandy loam with loose texture and deep soil layers.

In fact, Jiangxi is not entirely suitable for growing cherries. If you want to grow cherries, you can plant a small amount, but it is not suitable for large-scale planting.
