It is a perennial evergreen vine plant that grows among dense forests and steep cliffs, flowering and bearing fruit in May and June. Today let's see how to plant Akebia trifoliata.

1. Site selection

First, the work of site selection must be carried out. When selecting a site, it is best to choose a place with relatively fertile soil and a relatively thick soil layer, and it is best to be somewhat close to a water source. The traffic conditions must be convenient, and it must be well ventilated with good light conditions, and there must be very convenient conditions for irrigation and drainage. Corresponding preparations should be made before planting, and the land can first be deeply plowed once. This can provide sufficient material supply for later growth and development and increase the amount of finished product.

2. Preparations before planting

Deeply plow the planting site 20~30cm, and according to soil fertility evenly apply 1000kg~1500kg of decomposed farmyard manure, 20kg~40kg of ammonium bicarbonate, and 40kg~60kg of superphosphate per mu, plow them into the soil, rake fine and level, then make beds 15cm~20cm high and 150cm~160cm wide, and dig ditches about 30cm wide between the beds.

3. Seedling raising from seeds

From harvested mature fruits, take out the seeds, wash them repeatedly with clean water, rub off the residual fruit flesh on the seeds, float away the shriveled grains, scoop them out and dry them, then mix the seeds with clean fine river sand at a ratio of 1:3, place them in a wooden box indoors for storage or in a hole dug in the field, with the sand moisture controlled at 30%~40%.
