What methods should be used to prevent and control magpies pecking at corn seedlings?
Speaking of corn, many of us should be fairly familiar with it. Corn is a relatively common crop in our country, and it can be said that corn is grown in many regions of our country, especially in some northern regions where growing corn is very common. But when the corn seedlings have just grown, there will be situations where small birds steal and eat the corn seedlings. So what should be done when magpies peck at corn seedlings?
In some cases where not much corn is planted, it can be intercropped with vegetables. After the seeds are planted in the ground, some leaves can be spread over them. To a certain extent, this method can also prevent some birds from stealing and eating the seeds, but because of the limitations of this method, it is not suitable for planting too much.
If you want to plant on a large area, then to prevent birds from stealing and eating, treating the seeds with medicine is a relatively good method. Another method is one that is relatively common in rural areas, which is to find two wooden sticks and some straw, tie them into a scarecrow, and then hang some plastic bags on these scarecrows. When there is wind, these plastic bags will make some noise. To a certain extent, this method can also drive away some magpies.
