What pesticide works well to control corn dwarf mosaic virus disease?
During the growth period, corn can develop stripe dwarf mosaic disease, which shortens the internodes and causes pale yellow stripes to appear along the leaf veins, and in the later stages leads to the death of the plant. So what pesticide should be used for corn dwarf mosaic disease?
1. What pesticide should be used for corn dwarf mosaic disease?
Corn dwarf mosaic disease can be controlled with imidacloprid, buprofezin, monocrotophos and other pesticides. Generally, in mid-June or during winter irrigation, spray evenly with 10% imidacloprid wettable powder at 3000-5000 times dilution, or 20% buprofezin wettable powder at 1000-1500 times dilution, or 40% monocrotophos emulsifiable concentrate at 1000 times dilution.
2. How to prevent and control corn dwarf mosaic disease?
1. Seed selection:
Choose disease-resistant varieties such as Qunzhuang 101, Jinghuang 113, Yunong 704, 2569×Huobai, Xidan No. 7, Zhongdan No. 2, Zhongdan No. 4, Nongdan No. 5, Zhengdan No. 4 and other relatively disease-tolerant varieties.
2. Before sowing:
(1) Clean the field: Remove weeds in the field and around it, burn them in a centralized manner or compost them; plow deeply to destroy stubble, promote the decomposition of diseased plant residues, and reduce pathogen and insect sources.
(2) Do a good job of field management: Choose fields with convenient irrigation and drainage, dig drainage ditches well, lower the groundwater level, and achieve no standing water after rain stops; clean ditches promptly after heavy rain to prevent moisture retention and reduce field humidity. This is an important measure for disease prevention.Advocate contiguous planting, avoid large-area planting of a single disease-resistant variety, and make the sowing period basically consistent. Avoid causing virus transmission by the small brown planthopper due to interplanted planting and the coincidence of the susceptible growth period of a small number of corn fields with the peak occurrence period of the small brown planthopper.
3. Growth period:
(1) Fertilization: Apply compost fermented with effective microorganisms or thoroughly decomposed organic fertilizer. Do not use fertilizer carrying pathogens, and the organic fertilizer must not contain barley diseased residues; adopt formula fertilization technology, appropriately increase the application of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers, strengthen field management, cultivate strong seedlings, enhance plant disease resistance, and help reduce the disease.
(2) Insect control: When host weeds just turn green and emerge, promptly and thoroughly remove them or spray pesticide to kill insects. This is one of the key measures for disease prevention.
Spray insecticidal and sterilizing pesticides in time to control aphids, small brown planthoppers and other pests, cut off the routes by which pests transmit viruses and pathogens; prevent bacteria and viruses from entering through wounds caused by pests and harming the plants.
(3) Irrigation: Irrigate during high temperature and drought to increase field humidity and reduce the harm and virus transmission by aphids and small brown planthoppers. Continuous irrigation and flood irrigation are strictly prohibited.
