What herbicide is good for killing alligator weed with root rot?

General News By Sophie Bennett 0 views
Alligator weed reproduces in large quantities in ponds, swamps, paddy fields and other places, and farmers detest it greatly and want to wipe it out completely. So what herbicides kill alligator weed by the root? 1. Herbicides that kill alligator weed by the root 1. Use Starane to control alligator weed on paddy field ridges, canal banks and ditch banks, with a control effect of over 95%. Use 50-60 ml of 20% Starane emulsifiable concentrate per mu, mixed with 50-60 kg of water for uniform spraying. Spraying can be done from the sprouting stage to the vigorous growth stage of alligator weed. When spraying, do not spray the solution onto broadleaf crops such as soybeans and peanuts to avoid phytotoxicity.

Alligator weed reproduces in large quantities in ponds, swamps, paddy fields and other places, and farmers detest it greatly and want to wipe it out completely. So what herbicides kill alligator weed by the root?

1. Herbicides that kill alligator weed by the root

2. To control alligator weed along embankment roads and river ditches, alligator weed killer has a significant control effect. At the early peak stage of alligator weed occurrence, use 16 g of 10.5% alligator weed killer (1 packet), add 10 kg of clean water and spray, which can control alligator weed over an area of 200 sq m. After spraying, alligator weed quickly turns yellow, the stems and leaves wither after one week, and the roots are also killed. Generally, continuous use for 2 years can eliminate the harm of alligator weed.

3. Paddy-upland rotation can inhibit the breeding and spread of alligator weed. Use the special alligator weed herbicides alligator weed clean (liquid) and alligator weed light (powder), spray with water at the early stage of alligator weed occurrence, and when the above-ground part turns yellow and withers and then turns green again, apply the herbicide again, which can kill alligator weed including the roots. After 2-3 years of continuous control, alligator weed can be eradicated. In places where alligator weed occurs heavily, the non-selective herbicide Roundup can be used for control. Choose sunny weather for directed spraying to prevent the solution from drifting onto crops and causing phytotoxicity.

4. Roundup and Gramoxone can control alligator weed. Use 200-300 ml of 41% Roundup per mu, add 20-30 kg of water, and evenly spray the solution on weeds growing out of the water surface and weeds along roadsides. The herbicide is absorbed by the stems and leaves of the weeds and translocated to the root and stem tissues, exerting its herbicidal effect. Generally, 7-10 days after application, alligator weed and other weeds are killed including the roots. Roundup is non-toxic to fish and can control weeds growing on the water surface. Use 250 ml of 12.5% Gramoxone per mu, add 25 kg of water and spray as a fine mist. On a sunny day, 2-3 hours after application, the green parts of the weeds begin to turn yellow, and they wither within 3-4 days. Gramoxone only has a killing effect on the green parts of weeds, cannot be translocated within the plant, cannot kill underground stems, and loses activity after the herbicide contacts the soil. Using Gramoxone to control weeds on pond slopes and embankments does not kill the grass roots, which helps maintain soil and water.

5. During the growth period of alligator weed, use 60 ml of 48% Banvel liquid per mu, or 150 ml of 25% Buctril liquid, or 2000 ml of 10% glyphosate liquid, or 300 ml of 20% Gramoxone liquid, mixed with 40 kg of water for spraying, with a control effect of 85%-95%.

2. What harm does alligator weed cause

1. It can affect water traffic. Because it is an aquatic plant, it blocks navigation channels when growing in water.

2. It crowds out other plants on the water surface, causing plant monoculture.

3. Its growth rate is too fast, affecting the growth of the entire fish population and the fishing work of fishermen.

4. It threatens farmland crops, leading to reduced yields.

5. The growth of alligator weed leads to mosquito breeding, and people living nearby suffer from mosquito attacks year-round.

Overall, alligator weed has both benefits and drawbacks, and everyone should treat it dialectically.
