Correct Methods for Using Corn Herbicides
During the growing period, corn will produce various weeds. If there are only a few weeds, most people will pull them out by hand, but if there are many, chemical control is needed. So what are the methods for using corn herbicides?
1. What are the methods for using corn herbicides?
Before using a corn herbicide, first shake the pesticide well, then add a certain amount of warm water to dilute it, and finally pour it into the sprayer and add a large amount of water to dilute it. When spraying, in order not to damage the herbicide film, use a method of spraying while stepping backward. Generally, pre-emergence herbicides are applied within 1-5 days after sowing, and are no longer used about 3 days after emergence. Post-emergence herbicides should be applied at the 3-5 leaf stage of corn.
2. What precautions should be taken when using corn herbicides?
1. It is best to use a sprayer, with sufficient water for dilution, and spray evenly. Do not spray repeatedly or miss spots, and avoid spraying in windy weather;
2. It should not be used when corn has just emerged, in corn seed production fields, or on sandy soil, to avoid herbicide damage;
3. After spraying, a herbicide film forms on the soil surface. Do not cultivate the soil and destroy the herbicide film;
4. Spraying is best done before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m. to avoid evaporation of the solution or damage to the herbicide film;
5. If heavy rain occurs within 24 hours after application, respray in time;
6. For plots with many purple nutsedge (Cyperus rotundus) plants, effective chemicals should be selected for directed spraying control at a later stage;
7. After spraying, promptly clean the spraying equipment with alkaline water to avoid harming other crops.
