Many people do not know what the Bainong 4199 variety is when they first see it, and even those who know a little about it may not be very clear, so let's take a look at the Introduction to the Bainong 4199 Variety!

1. Introduction to the Bainong 4199 Variety

Bainong 4199 is the first high-photosynthetic-efficiency wheat variety in China, developed by scientists through crossbreeding and directional selection of the high-photosynthetic-efficiency material Bainong Gaoguang 3709F2 and Aikang 58.

Bainong 4199 wheat is a semi-winter, mid-early maturing variety with good cold resistance and disease resistance, suitable for planting in early and mid-season stubble fields in Henan Province (except the wheat region in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River in the south).

The whole growth period of Bainong 4199 wheat is 229.0 to 230.9 days. The seedlings are semi-prostrate, with short and wide leaves and dark green leaf color, average tillering ability, high spike-forming rate, early spring green-up and jointing, fast polarization, and early heading; the plant type is relatively compact, the flag leaf is small and held upright, the plant height is 68.1 to 75.0 cm, the stem elasticity is weak, the lodging resistance is average, it is relatively sensitive to low temperatures in spring, and has the phenomenon of empty tips; the spike is spindle-shaped, the upper spikelets are relatively dense, with long awns, white glumes, white grains, and vitreous texture, and good grain plumpness; it is not tolerant of high temperatures in the later stage, and the ripening appearance is average.

Inoculation identification by the Institute of Plant Protection, Henan Academy of Agricultural Sciences in 2015 to 2016: moderately resistant to stripe rust, moderately susceptible to leaf rust, powdery mildew and sheath blight, and highly susceptible to fusarium head blight.

2. Cultivation Techniques for Bainong 4199 Wheat

1. Sowing time

The sowing time is October 5 to 15.

2. Seeding rate

For high-fertility plots, the seeding rate is 7 to 8 kg per mu; for medium and low fertility, the seeding rate can be appropriately increased; if sowing is delayed, it is advisable to increase the seeding rate by 0.5 kg for every 3 days of delay. Plant in equal row spacing of 6 to 7 cun.

3. Fertilization

Apply sufficient base fertilizer; the general fertilization rate per mu is 12 kg of pure nitrogen, 7.5 kg of phosphorus pentoxide, and 7.5 kg of potassium oxide; after jointing, apply 6 kg of urea per mu as a top dressing.

4. Pest and disease control

At the jointing stage, combine with chemical weed control in the field and carry out appropriate chemical regulation to reduce plant height; at the heading and flowering stage, according to weather conditions, promptly spray fungicides such as carbendazim or thiophanate-methyl wettable powder to control fusarium head blight, and spray potassium dihydrogen phosphate at the grain-filling stage.
